RZR Files??!!

how do you extract Rzr files? i downloaed agame and i got one big folder of rzr files heres an example "rzr-gcii.001". I read that if you change them to .rar they are able to extract. well i did this "rzr-gcii001.rar to all then did extract here; when i did, it asked for a previous volume. how can i extract correctly? am i on the right track?
