Backups

hi, this is my first thread.

i've been trying to backup my pc games, due to the fact that there getting a bit worn and scratched. so i would like to back them up, but i've been very unsuccessful, i've uesed alcohol 120% 1.9.2.1705 retail, and gamejack.

when the i've burned the disc and installed the games they install but won't play, please can someone tell me what i'm doing wrong.

to play an image you have to make a 1:1 image

i thought alcohol made a 1:1 image of the game or whatever you try to copy

depnds what protection you want to backup

the game is rollercoaster tycoon 2
the protection is SecuROM *new* V>4.78.xx...

used ClonyXXL v2.0.1.5 to find out what protection was on the disc

you can make a buck up of this protection(note that clonyxxl hasn't been updated for a while)

i've tried alcohol 120%, game jack, clone cd.


i really need some help,

i've got an old version of clonyxxl, but i've ran out of discs now.

thats why u should try making images and loading them first tried alcohol setting it on securom?

yes, i've tried alcohol with securom settings.

i just don't get it .

when i scanned the game with clonyXXL it had 10 skulls , and the protection was securom 4.78.


surely there must be some way of backing up roller coaster tycoon 2, with out the need of a patch?

i'll try a few more time's when i get some more disc, if no luck i'll just give up.

I have had quite a few problems trying to make 1:1 copies of SecuROM New protected CDs...
The thing is (It's explained somewhere here on Gamecopyworld) Alcohol (or any other program that can handle Securom NEW) must make a kind of physical layout map of the CD, and while it's doing it any other program running can potentially screw up the whole process...
So first I would advise that when you use Alcohol 120% in Securom NEW mode to extract the image close all others applications, and after the image is made, mount it on the virtual CD player from Alcohol with the RMPS (Recordable Media Physical Signature) emulation option ON...

Last time I had to deal with Securom it took me 3 tries to extract a good image, so don't despair

read my backup guide, a few hint's and tips about backing things up.
I never made a secuess full copy of SecuROM 5 protection but other's have. It's not only depands on what backup program you use also depands on what CD-read and CD-Burner you have. One rule's says; cheap cd-rom driver and burners - can do less then expensive ones, don't know if's true, but I don't even try with a expensive one! :P
