Xenium ICE V1.6 install

Gotta 1.6 I am going to attempt to mod (with the help of experienced hands)
not my own.. Anyway I'm figuring you solder directly to the lower portion of the pin header for the LPC rebuild. I was just wondering how small are the actual solder points on the board. I know we tried a PS2 at one point and they were ridiculously small. I know theres 2 methos to attack it from. (top and underside) underside apparently a novice angle. Difficulty level?
And the set of hands are about 8 years experienced. Only he's not used to dealing things on the microscopic scale. Thanks..

The points on the xbox mobo that you have to solder to a fairly simple. The LPC points are very easy. The d0 point is the only tough point but it is nowhere near as tough as the vias on a ps2. You shouldn't have any problems.

I have yet to even see a v1.6 board yet so I don't know how small the solder poitns are.

I'm sure they are or about the same size as the D0 solder point on the back side of the board.

Well that seems easy enough.

I see your down in the valley. If you want to ship me your XBox to me I'm sure I could do it. I'm up in Flagstaff, you could even drive up, all though thats three hours each way.

Done lots of installs, just no v1.6s.

What a coincidence..

Hey man thats cool of you to offer.
It actually doesn't sound like such a bad idea.
I should be getting all of my materials next week.. 200gigMaxtor and the Ice.
I'll see how things work out..

My brother might be able to do it also.. He's the other resource I mentioned.. He's been an electrical tech for about 8 years or so he should be able to pull it off if its not anything like a ps2. But I'll definately keep you in mind.

I would love to be in Flag about now.. Its about 2 Billion Degrees outside..
Much Thanks

i'm still a real noob when it came to the bios flashing and others but i'll tell ya this, the points for the lpc rebuild took me maybe at tops 10 minutes.
the xbox chip install was 1 hour total maybe less because i was doing more then one thing at that time.
while the vias on the ps2 have taken me up to 30 mins.

I'm in no hurry to deal with PS2's again..
The one we attempted is now a large paperweight.

But it is good to hear that it won't be any super undertaking to re-LPC the box.
