Xbox Live Event question?

Does anyone ever post a scheduled Xbox live event where fellow members set up a friendly game on a specific date or time where we would meet up for a game on Xbox live? Or like a certain gaming day? This would be kinda cool to play fellow members.

Example: Crimson Skies game on ( a given date and time). Anyone wanting to play, sign up, list gamertag and be on at the give time. Like tournaments or something.

I guess this would be hard to coordinate here after giving it a bit more thought!
Just wondering if there is something like this already in place.

that would be cool.. except i think that me and quall are the only people who have live here(and you prob have it too, considering you started the topic) lol. also, we would all need the same game, and i dont have crimson skies, i tried it and i was HORRIBLE lol. we gotta wait for halo2, cuz im sure everybody will have that. also, if the co-op mode in fable is online, cuz im sure alot of people will buy that, too.

edit: o btw watch and be amazed at my psychic powers: i see sometime in the near future, axmichigan will come along, flaming us for being dumbasses and using xblive....

Nah! Ax is cool but youre right, he dont care for Xbox live that much. lol

Not specifally Crimson Skies, I just used that one as an example. We could set up any game.

It would be cool to hook it up and jam a game once in a while with fellow forum members.

People do that alot. Clans for example are just groups of people that found each other in games. They set up times to play online.

Anyways, the next game I play online will probably be halo 2. I just wish there was at least 2 online rpg's. Seriously, they have the highest online fan base than any other online console games and get people hooked for months. I will give MS a little credit considering it is thier first system, but I have no idea where they get thier statistics on marketing from. Surely they would have noticed the popularity from pc mmorpgs by now. Canceling TFLO was the worst move any company could have made. Although they have a good reason, but most people will see it as a first in many more cancelations and now completely discredited the MS.

quall, the reason TFLO got cancelled was because they were having some delays, and its scheduled realease date ended up being after what they thought the release date for xbox2 would be. so they cancelled it. its not good for business, releasing xbox2, and then having a kick-ass game get released for xbox 1. especially since the xbox2 might not have backwards compatability.

and if it does have backwards compatibility, i heard it will be by emulation. M$ thinks that while backwards compatibility is an important feature, the extra hardware needed would increase the price of xbox 2, so they are develping an emulater for it. but i wonder, if a FLAWLESS xbox emulater is on xbox2, wont somebody be able to port it to the pc? also, would it emulate mechassault well eneugh that i would be able to use a soft mod exploit? lol prob not, but that would be funny running or evox or unleashx flawless on xb2 lol

Well, they are able to emulate xbox games on the xbox2, there is enouph power. However, the legality was questionable, which is why there have not been any official announcement about this.

And TFLO was canceled due to more reasons than you suggested. The cause was a past due release, but a late release is an understatement. They made a small announcement a little while back answer a few questions briefly.

Anyways, the game was virtually finished, in fact, they were almost ready to launch it. They were just about to do an online beta program, but that is where the problems started. There were too many errors and glitches in the online code, which essentially made the game. Everything in the game was tied into the online portion of the engine. It was so bad that they would have to spend a great deal of time sorting it out, which I imagine would be like coding half the game engine again.

I said they had good reason, but they have upped this game soo much as being ffxi competetion, that canceling it made me decide not to even get the xbox 2. I see nintendo and sony more reliable in releasing games that have been hyped...for 3 years. They don't realise how much impact it has been on me and a couple of friends, and I assume many others in choosing the next console. An online system, canceling one of its biggest online game. TFLO, Halo 2, and Fable were all I looked forward to this entire year. All I can say is that I know many more people that won't be getting the xbox 2. Sony saw MS's online capability and will surely try to match it. That was all MS had in my eyes, which I favored alot.

ya i no what you mean. everytime M$ srews something up, the ps3 just looks better. as for nintendo being reliable, while that is true, i generally dont even want to play most of the nintendo-exclusive games. Like metroid prime. sure their reliable, but that just means that nintendo will reliably produce pikmin 3, marios mansion, supermario bros. 78, and an overwhelming supply of jap imports lol . if i dont get xbox 2 (which i will only get if halo 3 is scheduled) im gonna go wit ps3 or possibly both. i had a playstation before xbox, and i miss all that final fantasy goodness. anyone who has played FF VII all the way thru knows what i mean.
