Panasonic DMR E30 question

I have the above standalone dvd recorder. My problem is it only will read some dvd ram discs, i keep getting u11 errors, basically its just trial and error with which ones work. I have used a lens cleaner but this doesnt solve the problem

anyone know what it could be?
