Fixed EXE Cat in the Hat didn't work - help please

Am I doing this right?

I made a backup copy of the software using nero, d/l the revised cat.exe as a zip file and dragged it into the root folder as instructed.

the new file is 1048Kb dated 10/11/03 and
the old file was 1752Kb dated 09/02/04 ? ie smaller & older ?

When double clicked, WinXP wouldn't run the new cat.exe file

Is there anything else to check?

Many thanks
Gary
