Question about KOF 3-in-1
Hi, I just burned the 3 in 1 KOF disc, and I have a couple of questions about the origins of KOF 99 on the disc.
The default language in KOF 99 is Japanese, so I assume it was originally a JPN iso. However, it's suspiciously missing the anime intro when you boot the game. The intro is present in both the U.S. ISO and the Neo Geo ROM. Also, the music before and between he matches is totally weird. It's some chick singing a slow song, definitely not KOF-style! In the original game it's supposed to be some electric guitar-type music. Was this stuff modified from the original, or what's the deal? Thanks. Last edited by Knocks; 30-05-2004 at 23:33. |

I don't have thsi 3in1 KOF compilation, but obviously the music was changed as there is no singing what so ever between matches.
As for the anime intro is where you confused me. The Dreamcast version of KOF 1998 (which is titled KOF 1999 for some ****ing stupid reason) is the ONLY game in the KOF series that has an anime intro. Are you sure you mean anime intro? I ask because you said the Neo Geo version has it too. |

Well it's not really an anime intro, I used anime for a lack of a better word. But it's a short flash with characters' faces showing and some music playing. It's a really ****ty intro, but it's an intro nevertheless, and it's in both the U.S. DC game and the Neo Geo ROM.
I wonder if things were changed in KOF 2001 and 2002 in that compilation too. |
