trying to do it myself

Hi everyone ,

its my first post here on the forum , i only been to the main site of gamecopyworld before for the past year , but its a good site with very appreciated cracks that make the life of a gamer alot easier .

i just read how ppl keep asking on the forum for the BFV 1.01 crack , my post is about it kinda . I looked on the site for the crack , wasnt out yet , no biggy , eventhough i dont like changing CDs everythime i have to play , i can live with it for a while . Now i like to try out different thigns , and i thought lets try to crack it myself , my guess is that you need to know assembly for that , i know some basic assembly , but havent really used it for anything yet , so i looked how the 1.0 version was cracked by comparing the cracked and uncracked version of the exe . This way i hexed edited the offsets of the 1.01 , and it worked ( credits go of course to the person who managed to crack the 1.0 version ) , i was happy since it didnt ask me for a CD anymore , but , i got kicked back to the desktop. i remembered with the old crack , that it had an edited mod.dll also , i looked into the new mod.dll , and the old cracked one , old one is 4kb , new one is 900kb , so i am kind of confused about how to do that one . i wondered if an experienced cracker could help me out on this one .

i read the rules first to make sure its allright to post about this , but if its not ok please delete the post , also i read somethign about a 2 week rule in another 1.01 post , means that there wont be a crack within 2 weeks ?

thx for the help
and keep up the good work

first something to the 2 weeks WAITING rule!
if a patch or a game is released for 2 weeks and there is still no crack you may ask where a crack can be found or request a crack if there isn't 1. BUT: some games are protected with starforce v3
a non generetic protection which takes long to be cracked so none of the members is able to tell you when a crack will be released for sf3 protected games.

now to your selfmade crack!! don't be mad at me, but it can't be, that the cd-checks are at the same offset(s) as in the 1.0 exe.
so you cracked a 1.0 exe again.. lol..(the main executable wasn't changed with patch 1.01) the mod.dll is probably protected with safedisc?!

ok i know what you mean with the 2 weeks rule now .

i didnt change the exact same offsets , but i looked at what was changed , and look for the same hex values in the new 1.01 exe and changed them to the same as in the crack one .

about the mod.dll i have no clue cause i have no experience in that

hui very nice safedisc is one of the commercial protections which can be easily cracked by cracking groups, but trust me you won't mess with that kinda stuff

mod.dll? Seems to be Battlefield 1942, last expansionpack, and yes, it uses Safedisc ( like every EA title)

Respecting SF ( Starforce), well, every game have its own code, so must be restored in different ways for every SF protected title. Thats what it last a lot to be released.

Anyway, thats is fun for some people ( including me).
I think that will be solved soon.

Good luck!
