I figured it out you unrar the ps2vfs file that comes with the excute the ps2vfs.jar and use that to stream stuff from the computer to the ps2 with the player

woohoo no more wasting disk's on movies for me

Edit: this is one thing im worred about when you disconnect from net mode the connection stays active and while a connection is active you can not tern off the ps2 with the reset button (sleep mode) so you have to tern it off with the switch on the back

and in the residen evil outbreak manuall it says to never tern off the counsull with an active connection
can that cause damage?

you should hold the reset button a little longer to turn the ps2 off.
did you actually use the ps2vfs to stream avi file to ps2?

I still think shuting it off with an active connection may cause some sort of damage maybe not to the system but at least to the network adapter and dose anyone know about that kind if stuff?

btw: khafan im pretty shure holding the button down for the longer time is about the same as fliping the switch normaly it when you hold down the button to shut it off it will shut down if you happin to have the disc drive open it will close if you hold it down for a longer time with a connection active the power just shuts off and if you happin to have the disk drive open its stays open

Well it ain't good to turn it off with the main power switch first anyway. It also tells you this in the NA manual. Just close the connection and then shut it off. Go to Network Settings in control panel and disconnect the connection. Then power off.

maybe they have same effect, but still it's much better than hit the main power switch, I turn off my ps2 that way with no problem for long time.

My v3 before bios update never turned off without the power switch on back. No matter how long you held the button.

After I installed the HDD and utilities disc it did though. It also powers down when you push it once.
