Unhappy games freezes after playing for a while

for all the games i have (both backed up ones and origenal ones), afetr i play it for a while, some games's sound stops and some other just freezes. For the ones the the sound stops, after a while it too freezes. When it freezes, i can do nothing about it. nothing works except pushing the reset bottom on my comp case.
I have xp 2.6ghz, 1/2 Gb ram, radeon 9600

Do you have sound on-board? If so, buy a PCI sound card, that might solve your problem.

So the PC freezes, not just the audio...

Most likely a heat problem (as mentioned before), use a motherboard monitoring tool (http://cdmediaworld.com/hardware/cdr...re_utils.shtml) to check the temps and to see whatever is wrong when it freezes

Maybe you are overclocking your PC, reset it to it's default setting and see if the problem is gone

On some Asus boards (e.g. the P4C800) up the memory voltage 0.1 or 0.2 volt. This helped me after searching for weeks why my P4C800 hang after a hour or so... I almost killed the board out of frustration over it...

If it is audio related then update to the latest audio hardware drivers! Usually the CD supplied drivers are buggy, especially if it is a new mainboard

Don't wanna dissagree with you, but I'm not just talking empty here. Had the same problem, solved it after buying a PCI soundcard. And yes, the whole PC freezed.

P.S. Please don't delete this post too.
