Modchip problems
Hey guys, I tried to put in an 8 wire stealth mod by myself and it won't work. I turn on the system and it flashes on the white screen and shows the playstation logo then nothing happens. It locks up. I took out the mod and it worked, I put the mod back in, same thing, I took it out again, it worked and I put it in again and same thing. Could I have a 7 wire mod stealth instead, because it only come with seven wires even though I ordered the 8 wire stealth mod. Or could I have used a wrong diagram. Or do I just suck at soldering. I checked and all the connections looked okay. Can anyone send me a link to a site with some info that could help me out?

Who did you purchase the chip from?? They should supply the correct diagram.

do a search for mod-chips on the net and see what other diagrams are available.
Be very careful to make sure not one bit of soldier is touching anything else, some soldier points are so small they can still contact another point plus the image for the mod may be misleading as to what the actually soldier point is so look long and hard to make sure your getting the exact spot needed for the connection, one point out of place or a sliver of soldier making contact with something else can easily screw up the mod. |
