Help with Magic V

I just installed a Magic V for a V7, and I'm having trouble booting the games. Sometimes the games don't boot right away and I have to hit "reset" several times before it works. The originals work right away though. I'm using a Pioneer 106 with Ritek G04's burning at 4x with Alcohol 120%. Maybe the burn speed or is it because I tapped reset to quickly? What's the best step-by-step procedure to boot Magic V?

I did read the Ultimate Sticky, and they don't have Magic V. I also looked up the correct boot procedures, and it STILL doesn't always work. I think the problem is when I start the PS2 hitting the reset button from standby with NO disk in, it doesn't always go to the browser screen, but sometimes screen remains blank. Any ideas?
