Divx
I just ran the mrdia player 1.5 in my ps2, but i am having problems when i want to play a DIVX. the errror that comes up is called " index" error. I am gussing this is some kind of codec error, what kind of divx file do i need or how do i fix the divx files that i have so i can play them in my ps2. I would like more then anything to be able to load the media player and switch out the media player cd with my divx cd. I put the media player on my mem card, but dont know how to load it from it. So please any one that has any advice for me, holla !

get the divx codec at http://www.divx.com and use that to make a proper divx that will work in the player it would be a good idea to use DR divx its never failed me

Your going to have to be more spesific in what i need to do. I already have hunderds of DIVX movies that i obtained from the internet, but i guess that there are diffrent codecs for diffrent divx. What do i need to do with the url that you gave me. and what is a DR divx ?

If you went to the web site youd know the standard or pro codec is all you need if you already have a program that will incode video from your choise of codec's and choose the one you get there (if you need such a program I know there are a few free choisees I dont relly witch is the best I use DR Divx)
(I know you probubley already have the codec from the site if your playing divx's on your computer) some divx's on the internet where incodeed ether from differint codecs or old versons of this one that whernt rely good you have to reincode them to play in the divx player You dont relly need Dr divx but its nice its a program that will incode divx video onley Edit: its also a good idea to make shure you got the latest verson of the meada player at http://www.ps2reality.net Last edited by gamesmell; 16-04-2004 at 12:17. |

let me make sure i understand you..... the divx i use now gives the index error probably because its encoded w something diffrent then what the media player understands. If i take the divx i am trying to play in my ps2, copy it to my hard drive, run it threw dr divx, it should play ? Will it let me swap the media player disk for the divx ? OR How to i launch media player from my mem card.

I remember that I got that index error when I burnt the avi at high speed on cdr but when I burnt it at 4X-8X, all problem solved.

that could be the problem but a lot of the ones you download have not been made so thell play in it so if you do it often then youll definatley have to reincode a few
the divx can be on a differint disc than the player as long as your modchip dose not cause the ps2 to restart when you press eject like some do as for loading it from your memory card with a Dsm3 chip all you have to do is load it to the memery card and hold down triange wile you start up your ps2 Edit: im talkin bout leagal downloads onley of course Last edited by gamesmell; 16-04-2004 at 13:18. |
