Question final fantasy xI and the harddrive

since today is the big day for final fantasy on the ps2
that comes out with a harddrive
that by the way i already pre ordered..
i wanted to know..
is there are any issues with mods in your beloved ps2!


does the hardrive works if you have your ps2 moded?

but i have been reading in gamefaqs people saying you would be able to used it.. if you have a mod in it..
cause you r booting from the drive...

and if that is the cause i have to prepare my pocket for a new unmoded ps2

I've been thinking about if it would work for about a month now.

I'm 95 percent sure it should work.

Which mod are you using? Turn it off whenever you play FFXI, or any Internet game for that matter.

I myself have a magic 3.1 so I doubt I'll have any problems.

how much dose these hdd combos cost ? and ff11 online i know the pc is like $10-20 someware in there a month which is kinda pricey.

I saw an add on TV for it twice today, you get the game and the 40gig HD for $99. Pretty cool commercial I might add

i was reading the link someone posted.. up there..
and what i understand is that..
to use the hdd i have to put my messiah 2 en sleep mode
and turn off the mod..
so i dont get dna

but if i wanna play backups i need to take off the harddrive?

Looks like its gonna be the DMS modchip users that will be able to boot backups with the HDD enabled.
Apparently pulling the HDD out will really screw over ya system. And its gonna be quite hard for some users to use the HDD on a modded system.

This doesn’t mean the DMS3 is immune. All Sony would need to do is apply a small patch to the HDD every time you go to play online defeating any progress the mod teams may have made. So don’t get to high up on your horse DMS3 users.

what esle is good about the ps2 hdd besides ff11 and a huge mem card for us people that dont play online games if i ever play a game online it would prob be ff11 all the others like socom and such just is'nt me
