Unhappy Lock On nocd

Hello,

I hate playing LockOn with the CD in !

I never understood that mean to prevent piracy

So, I tried the NOCD patch from Deviance, but It doesn't work

Maybe because I have a french version ! ? !

If someone has an idea

Regards.

Well I was just wondering and hopeing it,s safe enough in time elapes to ask for a Nocd for Lock-On (LOMAC) ver 1.02 the latest patch. The Rom whine is killing me. Thx,s for anything you can do, I been hear long enough to know theirs not that many Flight Sim crack lovers on board so for for gods or any kind of sake I,m not pushing the request .

BTW: This patch should last awhile, seemed to correct alot of issues.

I don't think the Lock On US/UK v1.02 patches from the lo-mac site are protected, they may not even ask for the CD, unlike the previous v1.01 patch which was Safedisc protected! Have you tried removing the CD after installing the patch?

If you download them, they are self extracting RAR archives, you can unpack them and run a multi file scanner over them like PEiD 0.92, they show no Safedisc files, so things look good so far!

You are correct it dosen't ask for a CD. Some times simple things are taken for granted,
I been ask for CD,s so long I guess I been brain washed LOL. Thx,s a Bunch for the info.
I haven't tried online play, but most of the time they only ask for the CD key.

Darn that is great news and as you said I never tryed it with out the CD .
I assumed it was like the 1.01 ver.

Sometimes unprotected patches get released, maybe to avoid the hassle of badly implemented copy protections!

I always check to see if a patch is still protected, and usually find that a fixed exe will appear sometime after the patch is released. In this case, nothing is needed

The new v1.02 patch doesn't require the CD!? I've been waiting for the no CD for v1.02 since the patch was released. I uninstalled the game a while back because it worked lousey and was going to reinstall as soon as the new nocd was out. I guess it is like UT2004 latest patch that removes CD check.

So far the only games I still have to use a CD for are: Moto Racer 3, Rally Masters v3.2, and ofcourse Toca Race Driver 2. I don't suppose anyone ever got Moto Racer 3 fixed?

Don't pat yourself on the back just yet. Those Motoracer cracks are useless for Motoracer 3. The first crack is for v1.0 which is far from the latest version of Motoracer 3. The second crack is for v3.22 of Motoracer 1 not Motoracer 3. I never saw a working crack for the latest Motoracer 3 release.

Gad dern-it. Just when I was getting my hopes up for MR3. Isn't that game Starforce protected too? ToCA 2 I could care less about. Got tired of it real fast. Rally Masters v3.2 crack at CGW I tried but it is for ripped ISO copies of the game only, so it doesn't work. I have the retail version of RM.

As far as MR3 goes, I never got any claimed crack to work, even the v1.0. I think any working cracks were for illegal downloaded copies of the game. Last I heard it was too labor intensive to mess with and not enough demand for the game to make it a worthwhile task.

Motoracer 3 is protected with Tages copy-protection. There is a thread at CDFreaks which describes how to make a working backup of the game. However, I have never seen a working crack. From my experience last year or so when I got Motorcer 3, the copy-protection appears to be dependent upon the hardware of the PC on which it is installed. When you install the game, it stores a GUID on the PC which is unique to that PC, and it is somehow used in concert with the original CD-ROM to verify that the game is a legitimate copy. I never spent a whole lot of time trying to defeat the protection so I didn't come up with a working crack. However, this information appears to explain why the No CD-ROM crack for version 1.0 of the game that I have seen only works if the game has been installed from the original CD-ROM. If the GUID is invalid (as it would be if the game were installed from anything but an exact copy), then the game will not run. Tying the protection to the hardware of the PC prevents the game from being copied to another PC once it has been installed. It's a real nasty protection, and I'll never buy another game which uses it if I can't make a working backup.
