EFM - Please help urgently!!

I see on forums of Alcohol and Alcoholer that guys use a funny way to check if there recorders are EFM capable or not.

Well. can someone please explain to me how that works or how to check if my BTC (IDE5232) CD-writer is EFM-Capable.

Please help me since I need to know this quite urgently!!
