Question Alcohol120% backup??

So I am trying to make some backups with alcohol 120%. I was wondering what all I needed to play the backup? I have a gameshark 1 and no mod chip. do I have to mod my PS2? or can I play the backups with just the gameshark?
thanks,
kaier

Take a look at the stickies in the psx forum for psx backup tutorials.

As for ps2 tutorials check the Ultimate Info Sticky for tons of info. Thats in the ps2 section.

Tyler!

I did in fact check the sticky on psx backup before I posted. The link for alcohol is broken and I was unable to view any tutorial.
SO.... Any other links/info?
Thanks again.

Talking

A big thank you to you bighap. And to PSX Paul for having the site. One more thing. What modchip do you recommend? I can solder so that is not a problem. The only problem...Money! you got it. Basically I am wondering on recommendations based on price and functionality. (how many games it works for without patching and that kind of stuff)

Thanks again!

PSX mod chips are very cheap, $5-$10. I still have a few left, PM me if your interested. Oh by the way what version PSX do you have?

If I am correct a scph 39001 is a v7.
If you looking for just being able to play backups then I would recommend a DUO chip. They are cheap and are not too hard to install.
