Splinter Cell?

I'm trying to play Splinter Cell. It loads and lets me play till i get to a save point. When the mission starts backup the game freezes up. This is the original game. What would cause this?

I had the same problem but the game was on a dvd-r and I'm using the no solder chip. I used the ps2 cd loader to boot it and it solved it.

ok then, is your splinter cell cd scratched?

You need to boot using the eject method. Switch on your ps2, push eject to turn on the system, insert game if it isn't already in, close the tray and let load.

Well i did some playing around with it. I didnt think that by using Shark Bytes would matter,I was using the cheat codes to unlock all levels. I played this morning with no cheat codes and every thing worked fine. With shark bytes you got to load the cheats then it ejects the disc and then you put in splinter cell. I didnt think that it mattered that i was using this because the game still loaded, but for reason after the 1st save point is when it would freeze. So I no longer use the cheats. I beat it already with no cheats this was just for fun.

Shark Bytes? Is that like Gameshark? If it requires putting in a cheat disc to boot, boot it like I mentioned above.

Yes its the cheat code disc, that all works fine but lets say I Load a mission and i start to play,when I get to the !st save point where it saves to the memory card after it starts back up is when it frezzes. Remeber this is an original disc and it works fine on other non-mod PS2s. So im guessing its the codes that are messing it up or something. what do you think?

You have to boot a certain way with the apple pro for this protection. Boot your cheat disc like I said above and report back.

Yea i tried that method. The game boots up fine it's that when you make it the 1st save point is when it freezes. Does it matter that both disc or the original . After shark bytes loads it opens the tray and you put in Splinter cell then you press X and it closes and loads.

Okay i got it. For some reason you just can't use the Shark Bytes codes. when I play normal (without the codes) it works just fine. I guess something just doesn't work right when you try and use the codes.
