Pioneer 106 or NEC...and/or better.

I'm thinking about getting a Pioneer 106, $115'ish and free s/h. I will probably order it (or another if I hear of a better one) in about 2 weeks.

Is that a pretty good one for backing up dvds and ps2 games?

Are there any better ones out around the same $ range?

Thanks!

edit: What about the NEC? I just found it on newegg.com for around the same.
