List of playable games???
my question is if there is a list which tells me which ps2 backups
aren't working at all(no matter which modchip i use)

I dont think there are any games out there that "wont" work with at least one modchip.
Im glad cause I hate lists anyways. Tyler!

Use anything besides a fliptop, slide card, no solder, messiah 2 tw, neo, or old mod such as a magic 3.1 or original apple on a v7 or later system and you will be fine.

that's nice to hear!
but another thing that just crosses my mind was,whether there are other games like "true crime" which have such a wrecked up copy protection. i gave true crime to a friend and it now looks like as if he arranged a dj battle with the dvd,so i just wanted to know, to prevent such things next time!!

There is no burn protection. There is a protection that won't allow you to play it on a v7/v8 system with older mods such as the magic 3, magic 3.1, and apple chip.
