anyone backed up ps2 dvd with plextor px-708uf

I need your help guys,
My burner is a plextor px-708uf external via usb2.
I have tried alcohol 120% and record now dx both successfully burnt the media but it wont play. I have tried three types of media including verbatim which i Know works on my ps2.
Backup films play ok.
The ps2 is version 4 with messiah 2.

The bin is rapidly filling with damn coasters!

Have you ever got a backup dvd game to play? Your laser might need some adjusting, cleaning, or replacing.

tgimike, i own a PX-708A (which is the same thing but internal) and am experiencing the same problems you are. I m going to test this with another burner TDK 440N. If it works then it must be this burner. I'll post back the results to let you know.

Hi LordGino,

I feel the same about the plextor burner not being capable, Ive had no success with the games playing but they recorded ok according to the software. I was told today that Blindwrite 5 should work

Really, I hope it works otherwise I'm still pretty certain its the burner.

I'm going to try it out and hope that works before I try another burner.
