The Asus is a good unit. I have the CRW5224A and CRW4816A on 2 different peecees.

The 4816 is basically the same unit with slightly slower read/write speeds.

I'd go for the 4816A - ASUS are still supplying it. It is quieter than the 5224A unit.

The unit successfully copied MOHAA disk 2 which at the time was notoriously difficult, even for £200'ish Plextor writers.

Suggest you use ClondCD with ClonyXXL for copies.

Blindwrite Suite is also v. good for making ISOs.
