Good CD-R in Canada
I have been buying quite a few brands lately and all seem to be either be made by Ritek or Prodisc. It seems all the CD-Rs in Canada have become CRAP! I bought a few different kinds of Maxell, Memorex, Emtec, Fuji, HP, and a few others.
Anyone knows what's a Tayo-yuden CD-R in the market here, or any other better made CD-Rs? Which Fujis are Tayo-Yuden? What about the Mitsumi CD-Rs (available in Future Shop)? Thnx |

Good CD-R in Canada
According to this article http://www.cdmediaworld.com/hardware..._quality.shtml
Mitsui are one of best brands. In Canada, Futureshop carries their CD-R and DVD+R. This link was sent to me by Plextor. |

Good name for confusing us! I actually heard really bad things about that "Mitsumi" one.I just came across some Fuji CDRs in London Drugs, the ones with case and MUST say "Made in Japan". Those are actually TayoYuden (the best from the link above). Note that the spindle (50) is NOT made in Japan and NOT TayoYuden. |

Good CD-R in Canada
You are right, Futureshop carries Mitsumi. My friend had called me from Futureshop day earlier because he was buying DVD blanks. He told me that it was Mitsui. After I posted a reply to you, I saw what he had purchased and I told him to take it back.
I stopped by Office Depot to check their blank DVD media. Every blank DVD they carry in Canada is made in Taiwan. But they had blank Maxell CD-R media. Cheap stuff was made in Taiwan but the Pro was made in Japan. For myself, I still have not found blank DVD+R that is made in Japan. The best I could find was Verbatim DataLife made in Singapore (Mitsubishi Chemicals). |

Check the Fuji's? The ones that come individually cased, I beleive they're made in Japan.

Hi
Well i would have a look round for TDK..... although the burner you are using could also reflect on the media you use. sounds like you have been doing some chopping and changing with media including memorex which i had no probs with at all... But i am surprised that you have had problems with Ritek, as they do seem to be one of the leading manufacturers, alot of other manufacturers use their die's.
