X-ecutor 2.2 Pro bios flashing problem

I'm modding an XBox with a X-ecuter 2.2 Pro using the instructions in "From Start to Finish: A Handguide to Successfully Running a Modded Xbox"
X2BM writes and verifies the chip correctly, but when I reboot the XBox with the enable switch on (blue led comes on) it boots normally (no FRAG) but I l get the splash screen with Microsoft at the bottom, not Executor.
I've flashed X2_4977.bin and X2_4977_02.bin with the same results.
Any suggestions on what to check?

To flash the chip I loaded 4 copies of x2_4977.bin into x2bm.exe. I didn't name the files anything.
The boot disk is EvolutionX_v.1.8.37.52.iso burned onto a DVD-RW.
It occurs to me I have no idea what these files contain. Is there any way to verify them, a checksum or something?

Well I think your SOL. To refash the X2 you will need to do it from the Cornwall BIOS screen.

What I would suggest doing is buying an external programmer and flashing it that way. Or do a hotswap with another X2.2 Lite

Wait a sec. I'm a total dumb ass.
You have the Pro. Just hook it up to your PC and flash it.

Yes, I'm using the external programmer that came with the 2.2 pro. What's confusing me is that I get a "Device programmed and Verified" box every time. I also downloaded x2-4977.bin and x2.4977_2.bin from different sites and neither works.
It seems like the XBox isn't seeing the new bios at all. I'm not the best tech in the world, so I used the headerpin install. Could I have broken a trace or something?

Well I would go back and check all the soldering points for the header pin. It all most sounds like the D0 isn't getting grounded like it should if the XBox is booting normally.
I’d take a really close look at the D0 and see how well its soldered.

Thanks everyone, it was a bad D0 connection. I booted and got the nonMS splash screen.
After several attempts to solder the top D0 point, I used the D0 trace on the back of the board and got it right the first time. Much easier for a noob like me, in my opinion. Incidentally, it is not necessary to extend the grey wire, as I have read elsewhere. It fits neatly through one of the unused LPC holes with plenty of length to spare.
Again, thanks for everyone's help.

Dude, that a great idea! Never thought of doing that. Gonna have to do that when my X2.3s get here. Got three to install and ones a 1.1

Ya that top D0 can be a REAL bîtch some times. I use the bottom D0 for all the installs I do. Any way, glad we could be of help.
