Help!! My XBox requires service!!
I followed the directions on posted in this forum on how to properly install a new hard drive into my XBox. I have an Xectuer Lite 2.2. I made the EvoX HD install CD, swapped the drive, and then followed through with the formatting of the drive. I am able to FTP to the XBox while in EvoX with the modchip switched on. I took the next step and used ConfigMagic to lock the HD. When I switch the modchip off to go into the regular XBox dash, I get the message stating, "Your Xbox requires service. Please call Xbox Customer Support." The message is then repeated in several languages, but there is no error code associated with it.
I made the necessary backups along the way - they are on my hard drive. In my current C: drive, I have the following files: Audio (folder) Backup (folder) Fonts (folder) Skins (folder) xboxdashdata.17f14d00 (folder) xodash (folder) evox.ini msxboxdash.xbe settings_adoc.xip XBox Book.xtf Xbox.xtf xboxdash.xbe What have I done wrong, and is it possible to fix it somehow so that I can boot into the regular Xbox dash to play Live games? I knew I shouldn't have tried to do this myself, but I had to give it shot. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Just to have some additional fun, I re-installed the original HD (with EvoX on it) and got the same message that I detailed above. Have I done something horribly wrong here? PLEASE, help me. i think it's because you dont have your original dashboard named xboxdash.xbe but msxboxdash.xbe
the original dash must be named xboxdash.xbe for it to boot when the modchip is off! try getting a bios that supprots the naming to the evox dash to evoxdash.xbe so u can have your original dash as xboxdash.xbe then your xbox will boot as normal with your chip off |
