R they ntsc movies? Sounds like yr m8 has an RGB Component scart lead which means they will play in colour.
Sony ps2's r marketed with a composite scart lead which means that you'll need an ntsc compatible tv to play them through or alternatively u could use an RGB ps2 scart lead and run the movie on the back of AR2 or dvd regionX to get rid of the green screen problem.

Hope this helps
