Swap Magic Discs!

I am trying to use Swap Magic Discs (Euro v2) to play my CD-Rom and DVD PS2 backups. However, they do not appear to work! I have used both Clone CD and Alcohol to backup the games. I am using the Swap Magic disc and getting a message saying "Insert Disc", which according to the documentation is correct. However, when I insert the backup and slide the card to the right and then back to the left and then press X on my controller nothing happens. All you can hear is the disc spinning! Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Hey Puzzle get rid of the slide card mate. I tell you something u know when u slide it out u get a little bit off force thats the tray motor stoping you from opening it and that causes the motor to brake and the tray also this will bugger you for a long time then u will have to change to flip top lid go for a flip kid they look cool and there not hard to install and the good thing is there cheap!. i would recomend you getting someone to solder a messiah 2 in for you or any mod really depends which one you want of course

Thanks for the assistance guys. I will disregard the slide card cause it doesn't appear to work (I have used them on other machines before, but it don't appear to work on mine)! Does this flip top need a mod chip to work in conjunction with it? Where is the best place to order one?

Your best bet would be to get a No Solder mod (as long as you don't have a version 9 machine!)

I don't know if they still do them but

www.easybuy2000.com and
www.divineo.co.uk

used to sell them so give them a try

You can just as easily damage the machine by replacing the top case with the new lid!

IMOA i'd disagree and find the whole concept of the swap lid stupid. Each time you open the lid you're subjecting your machine to particles and dust (A common ps2 killer)

Installing the no solder mod is childsplay. It is actually more difficult than people interpret to damage the ribbon cables. They are designed to be taken out in the first place (thats what the blue plastic is there for.

Simply use a set of tweezers (if you've got big hands ) and you're done.

i have never killed a ribbon cable by putting in a no solder chip although i have had a system die cause the no solder blew the fuses but that was like 1 time out of 20 no solder installs its very rare to happen

Man, this is getting old. Forget about Z's toilet lid. Look i"m not trying to sell you anything. Just stating the fact that the lid sux. By the time you buy it or a no solder mod and swap magic disc you can almost pay for a no swap and install.

Mod chip as well?

Thanks for the assistance people. It's getting somewhat confusing now. I don't want to chip my brand new PS2 with a solder chip. Hence, I tried the Swap Magic method. Do I still need to purchase a non solder mod chip to work in conjunction with the Swap Magic disc? Please can someone recommend something! Cheers.

Yes, you need a no solder chip or a fliptop.
