newbie needs ps2 help PLEASE!!!!backups

aaaaaaarrrgggh!!!
can some please please please help?
i was wondering if using a flip top lid for the ps2 and the swap disks, can you do a direct dvd copy (i.e. copy straight onto dvd like u do with cd's) or is there a complicated process?if so what is this process- what on earth is patches???

i know that with a no swap method you can burn backups straight, but unsure about this way???

does the swap method recognise dvd movie backups?

also does anyone strongly object to using flip top lid, slide cards neo keys etc? is everyone for modchips, do they do that much more/easier to use? i mean im not a massive ps2 user so was just thinking this would be a cool quick solution for now

any comment s and advice would be excellent

cheers!!!

Its best to just make a img useing record now max on the Hard Drive but u could try 1:1 copy it might work i never tryed it so i couldnt say. I never even did it with the ps1 games lol and useing flip top swap magic makes no difreance it wouldnt matter if u had a no solder or a solder chip the disk is read by the laser not the chip so if u have a bad burn that wont play it wouldnt play in eather. i would say if u going with solderless chips go with flip top or no solder cause slide cards and neos will kill ur ps2 and u dont even need a chip to play moives just copy them and pop them in they play just fine but with the newer games u will need a cd loader disk to use with the swap magic disk on the sloderless type chips cause seems like alot of them 2x TOC check games r comeing out now u can get this from PS2OWNZ.COM they talk alot about solderless chips there
