Max Payne 2 - Using CD Crack

I tried 2 use the cd crack for Max Payne 2. But i cant find the exe. on any of the cds, so i cant replace it. I was told dat the exe and other files are packed/archived in the bin or cab files?

Is there any way 2 find or extract the exe? I am makin a backup copy dat i do with all my games, as incase original gets damaged.

Copy the files from one of the cd(s) to Hd, make a /crack folder where you copied the files, put crack in /crack folder and then burn it using the same label as the original.

Just an advice.
Don't replace the exe when making a copy. You won't have the original exe then and you won't be able to update game !

Instead make a crack folder like ByteMare said.

Updates no prob if you do it correcly (obviously checking for original executable must be modified), and executable replacement depends on the installation used. Installshield Wizard uses abnormal .cab files, when other uses Windows Installer with standart .cab and .msi data tables. Other picky installation requieres more experience to be cracked.

Keeping the original exe is not a bad idea, but not necesary.
Only in Operation FlashPoint were an original checking and was easy to remove that check that does not came from outside. It checks some data into the ORIGINAL installation. You only needs to modify such data and voilá.

I know if i replace the original exe. with the fake one, i wont be able 2 update the game. But if i may 4 now, not wann the updated patch. Is there any way replacin the exe with v 1.0 crack?

I mean i would like a back up dats identical like the original. I dunno if i'll need the patch, maybe i will if i get technical errors (like if it crashes 2 desktop like in Max Payne 1) .

Like what u all said the only way 2 get it 2 work efficently (like if i wann 2 update) is with a crack folder and i apply the crack manually? But i would be interested 2 know how 2 get it workin without apply teh crack manually.

Another way to say: cracking installations.
In the web page posted above we teach people to do that, but it is in spanish.
And it seems that you haven't got the idea: when cracking manually, installation checks fails and refuses to install updates. You need in this case the original one to match with espected.
If you crack the installation, then, crack verifies like original one and you can update without problems.
Obviously, every country and every version of teh same game have a different CRC check and there is no way to control it online, so must be more simple. Comparing with original installation is an easier way to verify if it is a crack or not.
By modifying installations, crack becomes "original", at least for that installation, and checks pass.
Quite simple, but not understood for many people.
