Messiah2Pro v1.31 Troubleshoot

Hello guys, I was wondering if you guys [charlie_ps2?] had the same prob I had with the Messiah 2 Pro V1.31? My situation can be summed up like this. I had a virgin PS2 v5/6 30001R series [ntsc USA] that was fitted with a messiah2pro chip v1.31. After installing for 6 hours carefully [my 1st job after much research, practiced alot on old motherboards] I pieced together the machine and loaded an import ps2 game up [dvdtype] it worked! however, the sound was scratchy and tinny.

I saw on charlie_ps2's pdf guide note that if one should incur that problem, to resolder the CLK point to the ALT CLK point. I did just that and BAM! Everything works and sound is GOOD TO GO! However this time, only one thing didn't work, and that was backup ps1 games. All they would do is goto the browser, and show up as a blue disc. I followed all the instructions, holding onto reset till the blue light came up, NOPE, tapping it twice, NOPE, recheck the SCEx point, [fine] and to no avail.

PS1 original discs boot up fine when MOD is DISABLED, however ps1 backups are still a no go. I was wondering what anyone could suggest... I had a navy technician reinspect my work - and had the thumbs up on the solder/connect points... Perhaps its a v1.31 bug? Well - just being the first to report this problem, and hopefully I'm the last - but I'm open to suggestions/theories. [Bought chip and equipment from www.foundmy.com so its not a hk clone... dud]

Thanks for reading guys =P 'appreciate any feedbacks and wisdom... (everyone started somewhere... newb and up)

if ps2 disks are working cd and dvd then its the scex connection thats wrong /stroke bridged

ps2 doesnt use the scex connection
ps1 uses scex only plus power and ground

ps how about using terry foundmy.com for your problems as he took your cash

its an install fault not a m2 fault

Thanks dust! Hmm, sorry about inquiring it here. I figured resellers would be SUBJECTIVE to their products, so I was looking for an objective opinion without any alterior motives... i.e dealer saying the product's immaculately perfect.

However, in this case I am at fault, being a newb [don't laugh, we all started from somewhere]. Could you relaborate about this bridge/stoke? I have the SCEX point all covered... both sides of the resistor tin have contact... =X Oh dear... Well... thanks for chiming in your 2 cents, or 2 pence, or 2 pounds, 2 euros,

MUCH appreciated...

the scex piont is close to many other components on the mobo,i class it as 1 of the hardest points to do
my guess is u either
1 have it connected to the wrong point
2 most likely your problem your solder or wire is touching another component (bridge)

hehe i forgot £2
