ok, i did this exactly the same way with diablo 2, and it worked, but it's not working with this game. the only way i could get the correct files to a backup cd was to copy the contents to the hd, then burn them to a cd. i was able to find a crack for the backup cd for diablo 2, but not for battlefield. the install works fine untill the end. after all the files are copied over, it looks for an exe file that aparently checks the cd to see if it's the right one. i need to either patch this file or patch the install file, but either way it goes, i just can't install bf1942 from the backup cd.

Mmm... I don't know about any protection check in the setup, it might be something else entirely. In any case, I'd suggest you try out Alcohol120%, it's great for BF1942.

Well diablo 2 is protected with an old SecuROM and Battlefield it's protected with the next newest SafeDisc 2. Use blindwrite kit or Alcohol 120% for a perfect 1:1 backup copy!
