Hi ,
I recently bought a 256MB EZFA. I'm fairly satisfied with it. The software is simple and easy, but a little lacking in features. The cart is fast (i.e. games play with no noticeable slowdown), but the power consumption borders on 30% (the GBA SP 10-hour battery lasts about 7 hours when using the EZFA Flash Cart). Additionally, (unless I just don't know what I'm doing) the USB Linker cable allows for the writing of ROMs TO the Cart but not the back-up of Retail Carts (I had to download ROMs of the games I own, is that legal?). The RTC is a nice touch but not really necessary (not yet anyway, right?). Effectively, I'm kind of in the market for another cart/linker. Has anyone done a comprehensive review of back-up systems? Or can anyone direct me to a good site? I've read a little about the 1.8v cart (EZ-2-PowerStar) that is supposed to extend battery life to almost 10-hours... but any reviews and opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance... |

Doh!
So, even if it's a game I already own, it's LEGAL to have/make a back-up, but ILLEGAL to obtain it by downloading it? I change my mind then, the linker I have sucks. Suggestions? |

Well, I personally have the old printer port version and have been able to back up my gba's no problem. Maybe you should invest in one of those then just use the USB one to flash your carts with.
