wmv to avi or other burn-able format for DVD-R?
is it possible to convert a wmv file into a avi or mpg or pretty much anything to burn it to play in a dvd-r. If so what programs would I need to acomplish this? thanks for all help.

Its not easy. I dont remember exactly everything I did but... Get Virtual Dub any version below 1.31 to extract the audio. Because anything higher has restrictions on wmv. Then extract your video with TMPEG or somethin and finally just merge them together.
