Copy a game on DVD

Hi there,

Is there any way to copy a game thats pressed on a DVD, such as DTM race driver for example?

I mean, games on DVDs are software-protected, and I cant use a movie ripper, can I?

I'd like to copy such a game without any file loss on another DVD, or even better I'd like to part it up on several CDs.

I'd need an ISO of the DVD then (I could split it up with winrar), but is there any program that can write ISOs of protected Software-DVDs?

I've never heard of copy-protected game DVDs, so simple copying using 'CloneDVD' should be enough.

But I could be wrong...

Copying with CloneDVD would not work as the game is likely to be DVD-9
There is a sticky topic in the PC Games forum about how to copy Metal Gear Solid DVD Game.

Checked out the MGS2 thread and skimmed through the 1st post.

Nothing special about it - basically, it comes down to backing up an installation of the game, reg entries included (plus the crack). This is almost akin to dumping a "partial hard disk image".

But there are still questions unanswered, namely:

- Is there such a thing as copy-protection for DVD games ?

- Does CSS-protection only "make sense" for video DVDs ?

- Are there DVD units than can read/write a DVD in RAW mode? If so, this could help in defeating CSS, as well as any eventual DVD game protection, and allow making a 1:1 image/copy of any DVD...
