Modchip FAQS and Installers
Ok, so according to all the FAQS I have been reading, the best chip seems to be a messiah, but from what I heard last (please correct me if I am wrong) these are rare and expensive because operation was halted
The second best choice seems to be the Magic 3.1 http://www.easybuy2000.com/store/pla...0modchip.shtml So, is there anything this chip cant boot? What about the messiah? Does anyone know if these chips can mess up the way the HDD works or games that use it work? (FFXI for example) And finally, I have bene googling for hours but cant find a decent PS2 modchip installer, can anyone give me any help? Edit: And one final thing, whats this I have been hearing about Clip Kits? Do they make modchips solderless or something or just reduce the number of wires? Do they affect the functionality of the modchip if I use one? Thanks

Re: Modchip FAQS and Installers
First thing.....
Your either behind in the "game" or you meant to say the Messiah 2.... The original Messiah has been replaced by the updated Messiah 2... They are not expensive and not hard to find... Just be sure that whoever you get it from is selling "GENUINE" Messiah 2's.... There are ALOT of clones running around..... Dont even bother with the Magic 3.1..... Its an OK chip, but spend a few extra bucks and get a Messiah 2.... (Unless you want all the BS features that the DMS 3 has...Or you can go a little bit cheaper and get an Apple 2) I think its called the Apple 2.... Bighap is the MAN when it comes to Apple chips so I'm sure he will correct me if I'm wrong.... As far as booting.... The Messiah 2 will boot EVERYTHING..... For that matter, even my "original" Messiah will still boot ALL games released to date.... As far as installers.... Where are you located at....? Dont bother with clip kits.... They have a tendency to come loose and cause problems.... True.. It does reduce the number of wires that have to soldered.... BUT if you or whoever can solder the wires that a clip kit requires, you or whoever can solder the wires that the chip itself requires... Hope this helps... |

It is the Apple Pro. Apple 2 is outdated.

As for your FFXI HDD question, the modchip shouldnt have any effect on either the original game or the HDD. But if the game comes out and has DNAS protection you will have to use the disable feature on your chip and only use your original to play online.
