SSX-Music Rip ?

Hey Guys Im trying to get the music off my SSX game.

I open the cd and I in the Audio folder there are files with the extension " .BIG " example - Aloha.BIG.

How can I open this file , or what is the frequency it needs to be to import it through a Audio program.

Anyhelp would be great.

I did record the song I wanted to my Mini-disc player then from my minidisc player to my line in on my sound card then converted it to mp3 sounds great but this way is really ghetto and time consuming. I wish I could just open the cd and drag the songs out to my desktop

Anywhoo if someone has a scheme of doing this please help.

Thank you.

You might find the program needed from the megagames site
http://www.megagames.com/ps2/ps2_utils_audio.shtml

I have never ripped audio from games myself. Somebody on this board may know how to though

Have you tried searching on a P2P file sharing program for the song? GTA:VC and GTA3 MP3's can be found in abundance so I'm sure that music from a popular game like SSX will be able to be found...

Cool

Hi - I'm trying to do the same thing with SSX3. I have got the files extracted from the music.big and music2.big files, and they come out as name.mpf and name.mus. The .mus seems to be the actual audio, as they range from 15-30.

Also, i was looking in the MOVIES folder and all the files in there have the extension .mpc. I open it up with notepad and i see a line "Encoded with MPEG Gimex module" in it. Cant find anything about gimex on the web either... I'm all into doing this now and its pissing me off i cant do it

I have searched high and low for information on both the music and movies but havent been able to find anything... hopefully someone knows these files inside and out here.

Its a whole lot easier doing it with the Xbox version of the game. Since the files usually come in WMA format which can easily be changed into mp3 and burned onto a cd.

As for ps2 I dont even bother. Well not yet at least.

I tried to do this. Pain in the ass. There doesnt seem to be ANY kind of easy way to extract audio or music from PS2 games.

And if you JUST want the music, a track listing would be WAY easier to find for SSX than doing it the way you're about to do it.
