Rayman 3 and Moto GP 2

Hey all.

I am looking for patches for these two games: Moto GP 2 and Rayman 3. I see posts that say that there is a patch for them, but none of the links work as they are too old. GameCopyWorld (which links to console copy world) doesn't seem to have patches available anymore for some reason.

Can someone point me in the direction of the patches for these games? Much appreciated.

The patch is universal through all newer games. The new protection is a media check and will not let you run the game off anything but the original disk. However, this is very easy to patch. You can use programs to oatch it for you, or you can patch it manually. The thread here will tell you everything.

Ok, I collected this info (should look familiar )

<snip>

All new xbox games either reqiure a media patch, or nwer bios with the patch updated in them to run games. Burnout 2 is one of those games. Just look for a patcher to auto patch the games default.xbe, patch it manually, or update your bios.

To patch manually, open up the default.xbe in a Hexeditor. Look for the line:
74 4B E8 CA FD FF FF 85 C0 7D 06 33 C0 50 50 EB 44 F6 05
and patch the 7D with EB so it would now be:
74 4B E8 CA FD FF FF 85 C0 EB 06 33 C0 50 50 EB 44 F6 05

If you cannot find that line, then look for this one:
E8 CA FD FF FF 85 C0 7D
And change it to:
E8 CA FD FF FF 85 C0 EB

</snip>

Ok, so if I wanted to put the game on the hard disk I can do this? Where can I get a hex editor?

Thanks

you can get a hex editor from downloads.com. The best [free] one seems to be hex editor 2.0, but I myself use Hex Workshop.
