So you can sell them!!

Nah but seriously, why would you want to do that...?? LAN games? You mean you need to run multiple CD's or you jsut need to have the game running at the same time, as for LAN games? If so you dont need to make copies of the game, just use the no-cd crack from one of the sites in the thread titles "where to get game cracks"

What do you mean "mule" some items you mean share the game? on e-donkey or something? I think talking about that stuff on this forum will get you banned......maybe a moderator can clear this up?

So please be more sepecific when you say you want to have multiple copies running so we can help you.....

Running two instances on one machine is nice for transfering and holding items. Start the game and create a game. Start another instance of the game and join the first one. One instance is the main character doing whatever, and the other character is a bank and items holder. I havent done it since the original D2 and it was nice for all the special equipment storage.

He wants to transfer items for storage, I think.
You only have so much space on a character so you cant keep all the goodies you want to. There was a program that let you "mule" by allowing you to run multiple instances on one computer. All using the same install and CD key. But that was for the original D2 and I dont remember what it was called.

Oh thats what it (mule) means! I have never played a magical game like diablo in my life so i would know.....how come you only have limited space for storing characters? i this because they take up too much space....or a way to handicap the game, like against the computer to make it harder?

The game allows only so much space for storing swords, gems, etc in your backpack and chest. When it fills up you have to decide what to throw away or sell.

You get a "mule" whose only purpose is to carry your stuff in their backpack or chest. When that mule fills up, you make another "mule" character.

but both instances of the game would share the same ip address and would therefore conflict and not be able to join the same game. I would see that as being the major problem with what u want to do.

Unless u run Virtual PC, allowing u to run another operating system on the host pc.

Look here and get this

Check out diabloii.net
I was having the same problem wanting to mule items. Its a small file you put in your diablo2 directory, just make sure you rename the original version to something else.

http://www.alsterlichtsatz.com/d2/d2.html

Download the d2gfx.dll from this site:
Make a new shortcut pointing to game.exe in the diablo directory. (Your normal game start shortcut points to "diabloii.exe". Do not change this, you'll need to use it as well.)

Procedure:
- backup or rename the original d2gfx.dll
- copy this special d2gfx.dll into the diablo II directory
- start up normal D2 or LOD
- host a TCP/IP game
- use "ALT-TAB" or "CTRL-ESC" or Windows Key to get out of D2 or LOD
- start up D2 or LOD with the newly created shortcut (you'll have the game running twice at the same time, off of the different short cuts. the d2gfx.dll allows this)
- join the TCP/IP game with your mule (type the displayed IP number)
- exchange items

Blow me.

You are then stating you are trying to run more than one copy of the game on more than one machine with one cd-key. Not to mention this thread is off topic.
