Any FIXED EXE's for G-Collections games?

G-Collections have been using Safedisc 2.7/2.8 on their latest titles for the last 6 months or so, sometimes on the installer and sometimes on the main program, and seeing as these games are 'adult' in nature they aren't as high profile as yer average FPS game and so finding FIXED EXE's is next to zero.

In fact I haven't seen any for these games, but they can be backed up using Alcohol no problem, but their latest title: Kango Shicyauzo 2 has gone a bit too far.

You have to insert BOTH CD's just to play the damn game!! Insert the Install disc for the Safdedisc check, then insert the Game disc so the Audio plays, what a pain! Once I have a FIXED EXE I can make a NoCD if needed.

So if anyone can help locating FIXED EXE's for these games it would at least ease the disc swapping saga!

Mmmmm.... I still think the answer is Alcohol120%. If you make two images, you can easily mount them and switch between them in Alcohol120% (it's just ONE mouseclick to switch to another image). Ofcourse that will take up ~1500Mb, but I may have a solution for that.

Cirkutz made a nice little util that will take a safedisc 2 image and cut off the data part. The result will be ~20-30Mb image file that contains the safedisc 2 protection so you can play from the hard disk. Now the link on his homepage doesn't work currently, but I can send it to you if you pm me with an email. It's 17kb big. I tested it with a clonecd image of BF1942, and it worked great with 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3.

So while everyone is scurrying for a crack like a frightened chipmunk for the last nut each time a new patch gets out for bf1942, I can simply update the patch and mount my special 20Mb image file It's entirely possible it won't work for other safedisc versions or even Alcohol images, but it never hurts to try I guess. Interested ? Send me a pm with your email and we'll see if it works for you too...

Thanks Rincewind, the link is still working btw

Yep, I avoid using 'virtual drives' and mounting images purely because your're doubling the ammount of hard disk space you need for each game and you need to keep the image on the hard drive.

With CirKutz tool I mounted the .mir image in a Alcohol created virtual drive and it works perfectly. I still need to put the Game disc in my physical drive as the Safedisc EXE still has a CD Check in it, but at least it's only one disc I have to insert now, not two

I guess this is the only solution until someone takes note of these games and sorts them out

That's funny, it fails completely for me. Oh well, as long as you got it. As for the thing with the cd in the drive, try making a full image of the cd with the audio. Make sure you get both the data and audio in the image, I know there's a lot of room for accidently making an image of only the data part. If you manage to make this image, you can use it in Alcohol120%. Once alcohol120% has accessed both image files once, the small one and the big one, you get two entries in the quick selection list where one mouse click switches images. I see no reason why this wouldn't work, so if you want to, try this too. Oh, and under settings you can create additional virtual cd drives, so you wouldn't even have to change images if you had each image confined to a different virtual drive.

Sorry Rincewind, I had to modify my original reply as I posted a *BETA* reply by mistake, lol!!

As mentioned, I want to avoid using hard disk space by mounting un-needed images, I can easily put the real Game CD in the drive and save precious space. But it should still work if mounted as you say, can't see why it won't.

For now (and probably forever ) CirKutz tool will do the job.
