Magic 3.1 problem, pls help!!

Hi,

I installed a Magic 3.1, but whenever I boot anything up (PS2, PS1, DVD movie, audio, original/backup) it goes to the browser screen. In the browser section it can detect which type of disc is in the drive, but it can't boot anything (and for DVD movies it says "DVD player not set up"). I've checked all the wiring etc with multimeter, but can't seem to find a problem. It's a V7 ps2 about 6 months old, haven't used it that much so I don't think the laser is very worn or anything.

This is one of those where you have to go back to basics.

If when you remove the Magic 3.1 entirely, DVD movies play, then your install was wrong. if they still don't play, then something is bridged or or ribbon cables maybe not properly connected.

frankly it could be anything.

if the DVD Player Not Set Up message occurs, the DVD drivers are missing from the Prom. I forget how to get them back - I think a memory card is involved. But go to the browser and look at your configuration and report exactly what it says.
