Starsky & trouble

Can't seem to run this game.

When I first got it I id'd the prot as safedisce 2.51 & copied it with appropriate settings with alcohol. After installing the game it wouldn't run - so I figured it didn't copy properly & I stuck in the orig disk, hmm... still won't run (same wrong disk message).

So figured the game knew I'd installed from a copy and I unist & erinst with the genuine CD. It still won't run. I'm going to return the disc & get it replaced on monday but I just wondered if I'd permanently screwed up my registry (with regard to this game) or something by initially installing from a non genuine disk.

*******please don't tell me to use a nocd - I have - Of course it runs ok with the nocd cracks - but while I do use these I still expect my original copys to work if I need them********

I have an LG DVD-ROM & a memorex 24MAXXX CDRW - same probelm on both so I assume it is not these

non-fic

incidentely, do you lose cut scences by using th nocd, the story seems disjointed & almost like it it is missing bits between levels.

If so is there anyway to play them - there are some "bik" in the movie directory - are these avi's in disquise perchance.

You can use the http://www.radgametools.com/ to play those .bik files. Some cracks don't play video files, others require you to manually copy the video directory to the game directory so the game can find the video files. It seems like your drives can't deal with safedisc 2. However if you have Alcohol120% or Daemon Tools active, try running the original without these in memory, since some copy protections check for these tools.
