An interesting experiment and a string of bad luck...
hey xbox crew!
I dunno how much I'm gonna be around for the next few weeks, since I've had this horrible bad luck attack but this is an xbox forum so let me post this experiment that a friend of mine conducted. This time when modding my xbox system I decided to have my friend solder in the chip (x2.1 lite) since he used to solder processors to motherboards for a living. I baught him his chip and mine as well as the programmer in case something went foul. Well the first one he did (his of coruse) went fine, the whole nine yards intact. He flashed it using the oxchip method and all went well. When mine was done he discovered that it wouldn't read the bios disc for reasons unknown. Instead of using the programmer he re-opened my xbox and unplugged the IDE cable and plugged it into a spare cd-drive he had lying around that could read cd-rws. He left the power cord in the xbox drive and powered his drive via the computer. Anyway when linex asked for the cd the xbox drive opened.....my friend thought this quite bizarre and then realized that the "power cord" also transmitted data....Anyway he placed the cd-rw of the bios into the cd-drive...and the Xox read that...and flashed everything fine via the cd-drive. I found that really odd and interesting to say the least but a cool bit of info in case somebody really needed to re-flash their bios on the x2.1 lite and couldn't get the oxchip method to work. As for the string of bad luck comment, it's simple. In less than a week I blew out my monitor and now my car has decidd to act up leaving me no chouice but to sell my brand new monitor to my friend for te monet to repair my car . So I hopefully will be back soon but for now I must bid all thee farewell. take care all!

Wow very interesting indeed!
Thats to bad about the bad luck but considering mine I would almost say thats lucky!!. We have a Dodge Daytona with a 3.0 fi 5 speed automatic tranny we been slowly rebuilding. Last year we fitted it with a new front end, new tires new brakes all around. This year I noticed that gas was leaking as well as the rad so we put in a new rad new gas tank then while doing this we noticed that the bearings in the rear needed replacing so we did that. Well we picked up the car and heres a big pointer for anyone with rad problems NEVER use stop leak we used that and it plugged the lines going to the heads and yes we ran the car when using it anyways on the way back we blew the heads.
So back to the shop we went luckily I had another engine I was going to rebuild so we put that in now the front struts went so now we need to change those. The good news is the engine runs great has about 150 000 miles on it but I will rebuild the other one instead. So all in all I kinda wonder if it was worth rebuilding this car. I forgot to mention we also had all the body work done ready for a paint but the engine sucked that money away.!! So just remember it can always be worse!! ![]() And why don't you go pick up a used monitor they sell them here for like 15$ and thats Canadian man I couldn't live without a monitor because that = no computer which =

Of course ! Leave it to the Devil to try and rebuild a piece of shiite Daytona. Those cars sucked right off the factory floor. (Well, they did have cool electronics at the time but everything else sucked.
) Why would you even bother?
