apple-x 3

the apple-x 3 says "EvoX HDD Patch" does that mean i can just take out the old hd and put in a new hd and not have to go through all the formating stuff?

Nope ..

You still need to set up some form of file & operating system on your new hard drive.

Just locate a program like slayers auto install, and it will set up the hard drive for you.

ok thanks. so i just put in the new hd then load the program and it will format the hd for me

Yes..

Just remember to safe a back up of your original HD, to CDrw, just in case.

When you get your new HDD it should be sealed in an some sort of electrostatic discharge protective package. When I removed my HDD from the Xbox and swapped them I just resealed the original HDD in that package. That way if it is ever needed my old hard drive should be ready to go if needed. The auto installers are also very easy to use. Simple as going to "format hard drive". Not the route that I went but it is still incredibly easy and I woulduse it if ever I had to reformat again.
