Exclamation Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield 1.3 LAN fix

Yes it out!
http://members.lycos.co.uk/krondike/

Note:
If you are internet connected when you start a LAN server, you must have your own valid CD-key!
If you ain't uplinked you don't need CDkey to create LAN server.
And yes, it just LAN server only!

Hey Krond, I just tested it out with v1.3, and it's not working. I went to Create Game, selected LAN server, when I clicked Launch it asked me for the CD Key. I clicked the check and it said invalid CD Key.
Maybe you set it up to work with internet servers, I don't know. I just need it to run a LAN game. What do you think could be the problem?

unplug your internet connection or set your firewall up to block communication to the authentication-servers (sry, dont know ip of them, but they are available)

I won't be able disconnect the internet connection at the LAN place I go to. Krond's 1.1 patch worked just fine and I have used it without any problem.
I've explained my situation to Krondlike before. I own this game, in fact I own two copies of it, one for each of my home computers. Ironically I never played them because I have very little time because of work, but that's another story. But what I do play is multiplayer at a LAN place. I never played the full version of Raven Shield on the internet, just the demo. There is an internet cafe nearby where a group of us, usually just 5, go and play. The cafe does not have RvS installed on their computers. They only have Counter-Strike, WarCraft III and StarCraft on their computers, therefore each time we go, I have to spend nearly 30 minutes of our bought time just installing the game. I do not use my retail CD's, I use two copies I made. With version 1.1 it was simple; I would install the game, run the 1.1 patch, install Krondlike's crack, then run the No-CD crack. The game would work without a problem, and I would continue to use it if it were not for the fact that everytime new maps, or updated versions of maps, are released, they don't work on older versions of RvS.
If you're wondering, yes, of the 5 of us, 2 are in fact playing illegally because they do not own the game. And even after trying to convince them, they can't justify paying $50 for a game they play maybe once a month at an internet cafe. But even so, if only the 3 of us that actually own the game played, we still do not want to use our CD-Keys when installing it at the internet cafe.
I don't know why the crack isn't working, but hopefully you or Krond can make a working version. If not, then I guess we'll just stick to playing version 1.1, or 1.2 if Krond's 1.2 crack works (I never got around to testing it). But I hope one, or the two of you will release a working LAN crack.

just curious...there's a cd-key for the game? how come i dont have one, but i can play the game. I was always wondering what people were talking about? (i bought it that way, so no comments on me boot legging the game, i hate when people say that to me. i buy all my games !! ) oh well, but i have a question about this game and the compatability with the alcohol 120% virtual drive. did anyone fix this by any chance?

thanks

Hehe this is the deal. First to answer you question.
Yes alcohol 120% should work fine. if you have the latest version.
And dump it totaly.

The 1.0 to 1.1 (I think) Was protection with SafeDisc 2.8 and 1.2 -> are protected with SafeDisc 2.9.

To your concern.
Like Eagle said, the Single player mission is not asking for CD-Key the Multi-Player dose.
Ubi-soft/ the dev. of the game did a bug when they released the Raven Shield. They forgott the CDkey thing.

So in 1.0 you can typ in any cd-key and run the game. And if you type so many letters as the origal cdkey has, it will dissaper the CD-key box.

in 1.1 they did the CD-key bugg, and there sulution was, to connect to there server, that could check if the cd-key was valid. Any way, the problem was, in LAN game, and if you play in private lan and have no internet connection it still wanna connect to UBI-soft server and check if you got a valid cd-key. And you can't lanch the game or the LAN server. THAT's what has been fixed. But every time you got internet connection and wanna play LAN games, you must have a valid CD-key.

So this only fix out, that if you don't have internet connection and wanna play multi player, you don't need a cd-key! by the way 1.31 LAN fix has been released...

Instead of unplugging any cable, you can just remove your gateway in your tcp/ip NIC properties.
Your pc won't be able to contact any server outside your LAN
It should help i hope

see ya
