Ripping PS2 FMVs Possible?

Anyways this is a followup to Kaisers thread as it seems to have dissapeared.

Ok I did a lil researching and talked to a few people online. Anyways the format for ps2 is .pss. I met a few people who *claim* to have ripped games before and sent me to some japanese website. Anyways i dont read japanese so couldnt tell which program to dl, wouldnt help anyways seeing as the program more than likely would have been in japaneese.

So anyways turns out there are english translation versions of ps2 movie ripping software at megagames.
http://www.megagames.com/ps2/ps2_utils_graphics.shtml

Ok i dled them and the one called ps2 movie player has an install and 2 other files.

"you must register the
plug-ins in Windows. Click RUN and then type each command...

>regsvr32 c:\Program Files\ps2play\ps2splitter.ax
>regsvr32 c:\Program Files\ps2play\ps2pcmdecoder.ax"

Anyways seeing as I dont know near enough about computers to test this out or see if its safe I thought id throw this up at someone on this forum to test it out see if it works!!

The other program claims to be a program with tools to beable to rip the mpeg2 and wav files from the ingame movies and then be able to put them back together to create say a vcd/svcd or divx etc etc....

anyways if someone could test these out that would be great!!

Id test it myself but Im not sure if installing those .ax files is safe or what they do, and i know some people are a lot better with this kind of stuff.

Please reply asap as Id like to rip some games like XenoSaga and FFX.

I've tested these two program long time ago.ps2 movie player didn't work for me and I got error when I register plugins, but pss plex worked great for me and convert onimusha 1&2 movies to .m2v and .wav files. for FFX you need movie extractor tool, because you can't see movie files through windows explorer.you can get this tool from alucard.cc
you can watch ps2 movie files with windvd but there's only video without sound

OK. I tested this great extractor and worked unbelievable.
It extract FFX movies to .m2v and .wav.
you need an encoder to convert these files to avi or mpg.

No that wasn't the pssplex program. I'm talking about FFX movie extractor.as I said before you need an extractor for FFX movies, because FFX movie files are not viewable through windows explorer,so pssplex has no use here.
just follow the link that BG posted here and download FFX movie extractor. this program only work for FFX.
I didn't see movie player/extractor for xenosaga until now, maybe someone know about xenosaga movie player/extractor
