about dod v1.0

Anybody have this problem when i create dod(day of defeat) server on locan area network .the lag(ping) level is so high about 87ms.But u know when i ceate counter-strike server on local area network .the lag (ping ) level is low about 10-15.
so some client have "connection problem".so i don't know how to setting my server .
Note:1)one server connect six client
2)Day of defeat is CD retail version not download MOD version.

i dont rly know because all my friends and i get a ping of 0 for all lan games to do with HL. :/

DOD is using far more bandwidth and cpu than CS. This is becuse of the sounds and textures in DoD. They are far more complicated than in CS. That's why it's more laggy. If this is to much of a problem, try getting a dedicated server or let the person with the best cpu, and highest RAM, host the server.

MY computer is p4 1.4 256 RDRAM for run dod server .i don't know enough or not enough for run dod server .

That should be more than enough.

Then if it's slow, you should turn off som desktop graphics in the graphics card setup. Like Vertical Sync to Off. And also lower everything else, depending on your graphic card.
Anything to boost up the game.

Do you know your fps in the game? It should be 100fps and sometimes switch between 100 and 98fps.
Use the "cl_showfps 1" command in the console to easy see your fps. Also the "fps_max 100" will set the border.
Also in game options, turn off A3D sound if you have it active. This sound engine is way to laggy.
And in advance player setup, lower the decal level to 150 instead of 300 thats default.
That's how you mainly boosts the game.

Have to go!
But see to when you host the server, mark the "Lower Ping Server Physics" or what it called.
