GT3 patch for JAP SCPH 15000 help!???

I GOT AN ORIGINAL DVD FORMAT GT3 AND WAS HAPPY THAT SOMEONE HAD RIPPED IT...
NOW DAT I HAVE SOME BACK-UP...
BUT IT SEEMS THE BACK-UP WILL NOT WORK WITH MY PS2... ANY PATHCES???

Looking back over your posts - which modchip did you eventually install? This potentially matters to the answer for your question.

yah i forgot...
i have the swap-trick method...
using the ps2 utility disk...
almost the new games wont run in this method

better buy new ps2?
my friend has chipped his PS2 jap model 30000
and his GT3 and Dark Angel runs smoothly!!! he used an AR2

i wonder wat will my ps2 be in future back-up games????

You won't need a new PS2. I use SCPH 15000 with Utility Disk Boot (Or any other Jap original game boot). Anything that plays on his Jap PS2 ought to play on yours. The swap disk method isn't relevant because it's just a method for doing a proper first stage boot and allowing you to put in the bacjup you wish to play. Does whatever physical CD rip you are using work on your friend's PS2? Does the original GT3 DVD work on your firiend's PS2?

yah! MY GT3 (ORIGINL) RUNS ON HIS SYSTEM SCPH 30000 (JAP MODCHIPPED USES AR2)...
I WAS WONDERIN HOW THE GT3 BACK-UP RUNS ON HIS SYSTEM... WHILE MINE SUCKS!
GT3 will just show the KALISTO OPENING and THEN HANGS at the moment it boots ???

A friend of mine have a JAPANESE PS2 (buy it the sec. day of japanese release don't know the number) he have a chip and uses the swap trick with the origional utility disc version 1.0. I dl and burned the kalisto backup of gt3 jap. for him and everything works fine on his machine. I burned it with fire burner and there are 31 rars (kal-gt3j001) It was patched already. What kind of patches do you use ?? i wanna play my backups on his machine but don't know what kind of patch i need.

The only thing I haven't unambiguously established in working this through logically is that the actual in your hand backup GT3 CD that works in your friend's machine is the one that doesn't work in yout PS2. If that is true, then I've exhausted the bounds of my knowledge.

If that is not true, i.e. the one you try to use is a copy of the one your friend uses, then have you tried the one your friend uses? Your posts are not entirely clear on this.

well i have the kalisto rip of gt3 and it dunt work!!!!
i patched it with fargo 2 swap with th utility disc and it dunt work. it gets 2 the kalisto sine and then i press ####t and it crashes!!!!! i have a jap 15000 with the simple ultility swap.

i heard that the jap ps2 1000 -15000 does not read images over 74mins, i dunno weather thats true but if it is it would account for the problem. but on the other hand i have a rip of twisted metal black and that works gr8!!!

aw i forgot...
the one that i have (gt3 KAL US VERSION)works fine in his PS2 (30000)..
it seemed dat only PS2's without the Utility Disks will work on it!
my friend's friend has an american PS2 and it works fine (using the back-up i got)...
anyway... im lucky i have the original one (since the rip has no opening movie... he!he!he!) or am i sour graping!?#*&^???
