Trouble Extracting Discs

Hello Everyone. Currently, I'm experiencing a big issue when extracting bin files from CDRWIN 3.9, CloneCD, Alcohol 120. Here is what is happening.
CDRWIN: Extracts fine but takes forever due to all the read errors and when I burn the image back the game doesn't boot properly
CloneCD: Never completes extraction
Alcohol: Stops due to an error in the dump

I have the settings on 1x for all applications and have had success reading many other bins but some games I find harder to extract than others. I have been unlucky at extracting the following:
Syphone Filter 3
Tomb Raider 3
Grand Theft Auto I and II

I couldn't get anything to extract from my LG cdrom so I am using my teac CDRW instead. Do these games have anything protected on them that I cannot extract them? Maybe because they have the blockbuster label on them or something? Looking for advice or tips on how to tweak or test the programs so I am not wasting time and cdrs. Would enabling the drive in DMA matter in this case?

CloneCD should work. Did you follow the tutorial as seen here. The games have blockbuster labels because they were sold used right?

went through tutorial followed directions to a T no luck still. Tried Alcohol, CDRWIN, CD COPY at 1x read. It extracts the discs completely but never full loads certain games such as Medievil 2, Tomb Raider 3, Nightmare Creatures 2, Grand Theft Auto 1 &2. Seems like some of these games just cannot copy correctly. I even tried 2 other cd roms. I am just coming up with coasters. I also can no longer access the CDRWIN tutorial from your link, comes up as forbidden any suggestions here? Not sure why some games copy fine others do not... help if you can

Thanks!

look closly at the disks as blockbusters put a piece of plastic over the disk to prevent scratches and this can cause problems when copying,if it is there soak the disk in cool soapy water and gently peel the plastic off and it should then copy as long as the disk is not scratched too much!
i never bought ex rental games for that reason!

Medieval 2 has rather nasty protection and needs to be patched.
Any read errors at all indicate that your cds are not worth copying.

After patching Medievil 2 bin, I insert the game and it goes to the second screen where it should be black with the PS logo but it is just blank. The screen just sits there and the disc stops spinning.

Tomb Raider 3 - gets to where it says Loading after the PS logo screen and just stops spinning.

Nightmare Creatures 2 - goes to where the second logo screen is and just the 2 little x's show up. This is after the patching.

I will try removing the blockbuster clear labels to see if that helps in the copy process, I figured it had something to do with it.

Black Diamond - what do you mean by -

Medieval 2 copys with no problems using Clone CD and a 100% compatible burner.....

No patching necessary..... Plays perfectly in PSOne w/stealth mod and PS2....

medievil 2 did end up copying fine without patching. Still having trouble with tomb raider 3, perhaps the cd is a bit scratched on the bottom. Any suggestions to clean that up? How about nightmare creatures or grand theft auto directors cut? Patching no patching?
