Secu(?)ROM is going to be really hard :(

http://www.securom.com/news.asp?id=21

just want to let you know, all future securomīed game will have triggers inside wich will make the game unplayable (like FADE).
e.g. in ToCA Race Driver or Anno 1503. the games will crash after a certain time or other **** will happen.

will be hard to crack. unwrapping the securom protection
wonīt be the hardest thing ... it will be erasing all the triggers left
by the protection.

thx to ~$LaY3!2~ for the info

interesting it took 5 weeks for a crack to come out for gothic 2 umm..
Me thinks Sony are full of **it.
The good news is the big groups already know how to unwrap this new trigger system the problem is going to be backing it up!

the hitman v1.01 update tooks one month to crack.

and for games like Anno 1503 v1.04 are no cracks out, cause of the heavy triggers...

and the developers say that the trigger system will become better with every rlsed version of securom.

deviance wrote in an NFO that cracking of future triggered games will need a lot of time and testing.
the Securom devs told that you need a byte to byte comparison to eleminate all hidden checks.

yea there are some 'LIES' on that page, like about how it took 'blah' weeks to crack this and that... still, the newest 'Metamorphisis' protection (thinking release date is going to be announced in LA, may 15th) is most likly going to become the leading CD-ROM / Anti-Piracy Protection..
- but if there is a way in, there is a way out =-P

hey CDkiller, you shouldnt be so negative, ur a pretty smart person, if you try, you will most likly succeed? =-P =-)

Forcefully they crushed my hope
I see no point in struggling for survival
But in the distance
There is, a light so bright
A glimpse of hope, in sight

what now! =-)

Yeeehhhh for optimism.
FADE like protections seem to be an excellent way to hinder crackers. But where there's a will there's a way. For every new copy protection version there's thousands more crackers working away to beat it. Things will speed up soon with the trigger protection I would think.

Flashpoint wasn't protected by Securom + triggers, just Safedisc + the FADE crap which was related to the CD-key.

Bad key = fade away, bad boy..nice gun, too bad you can't use it
