Uninstalling directx 9

Hi everyone,
I bought splinter cell not realising what terrible things it was going to do to my comp, i read that it gives you directx 9 and directx 9 is only for bran new cards that are not out yet!! and i got it and it has stuffed nearly all my games, is there anyway to uninstall it?? i would be very gratefull!!!!!!

and the DirectX 9 issues are solved.

DX9 can't be uninstalled.
Good old M$ want you to use System Restore to get rid of it - which is entirely unrealistic if you installed it months ago for example.
But do as cdkiller suggests
